An attorney who mediates divorces and family law cases, Melanie is known globally for her work also as an equality and human rights activist. She advocates, speaks and writes about politics and issues impacting LGBTI communities around the world, and in the U.S.A. She is the Executive Director of the African Human Rights Coalition and directs The Peacemaker Museum World Tour. She currently mediates for Private Courts. She has served as a human rights commissioner and on several boards. In 2014 she was honored for her global advocacy work by San Francisco Pride, as a community Grand Marshal and is now Vice President on the Board of S.F. Pride. She received the 2016 Marin County Human Rights Commission’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Humanitarian Award for outstanding advocacy in the furtherance of human rights.
