One of the hardest struggles of being a parent is trying to get your children to eat their veggies. The once used quote of eat your veggies, so you can grow strong! no longer work. Let's face it, we are dealing with a generation of children who come out of the womb with a mind of their own. They are picky eaters from day one. Honestly, I'm not a fan of veggies myself, but I know they are needed for growth, to help fight off sickness and diseases. Furthermore, a healthy eating routine that begins in the early stages often lead to healthy eating habits in adults.  So how do we get our little ones on the right track to eating their veggies, these 3 easy tips should help out! If not, strap them down and shove the veggies down their throats, just kidding!

Be an Example.

The truth of the matter is, most of our children's daily habits are a result of what's routine in the home. This is no different when it comes to eating. If you kids are like mine they are always begging for your food.  If you as a parent are seen eating your veggies regularly, nine times out of ten the child will pick up on that habit and are likely to eat their veggies as well. Children are always watching.

Start Early.

The earlier you start introducing veggies into your children's diet the better. When the pediatrician tells you its time to start solids, you should try a green vegetable.  Once they get use to eating them, as time goes by and they get older, they will already be in the habit of eating vegetables and their taste buds will be familiar with them.

Consistency is Key.

Be sure to include vegetables with dinner every night. Let your children know that veggies are here to stay.  The more exposed they are to the veggie , the more accustom they will be to the taste, allowing them to accept it more. Snacks, are another great way to keep up the veggie consistency.  Instead of fruit snacks or chips, have your child try out some raw carrots with a little ranch, or celery with a little peanut butter. The more exposed they are the better.

There are a lot of other ways to get your children to eat their veggies, these are the ones that worked for me and my boys, well, my youngest will eat anything!  Try these tips or search around for a way that will best fit your child.
